This Act regulates the relationship between landlords and tenants. It applies to both residential and commercial spaces. It however excludes the exempted ones. CAP 176 of this Act specifically details more on shops, hotels, and catering establishments. Rental agreements help to set clear boundaries. They also define what expectations landlords and tenants have for each other. Tenants know what's required of them during their lease. The landlords know what to expect from their tenants and what they are also supposed to do.
